Coyotes Rally Past Victor Valley in Five-Set Thriller

The Cerro Coso Coyotes battled through a hard-fought five-set match on October 22nd, defeating the Victor Valley Rams with set scores of 12-25, 22-25, 29-27, 25-20, and 15-10.

After falling behind two sets early, the Coyotes showed determination and resilience to mount an impressive comeback and secure the victory. Leading the offense was Kori Phillips, who tallied 24 kills and 25 total points. Jiana Alcaraz-Carter followed with a strong performance at the net, recording 15 kills, 2 solo blocks, and 17 total points.

Setter Isabella Chavez directed the offense with 36 assists and added 5 digs, while Seliah "CC" Smith anchored the defense with 26 digs. Lexi Higer and Brooke Murphy also made key contributions, combining for 19 kills and 22 total points.

The win improves the Coyotes' record in conference play as they continue to build momentum late in the season.

Cerro Coso will return home for their final home match of the season and Sophomore Night, where the team will honor its second-year players and close out the home schedule in front of the Coyote fans.
