The Cerro Coso Coyotes showed incredible heart and resilience the evning of Wednesday September 17th as they went toe-to-toe with No. 8-ranked in the state, Taft College in a gritty five-set battle on their home court.

After a tough first set, the Coyotes bounced back in a big way, taking set two 25-23. Riding that momentum, they continued to outplay the Cougars in the third, securing a 25-20 win and taking a 2-1 lead in the match.

Though the final two sets didn't go Cerro Coso's way, the fight and fire they displayed against a top-tier program sent a clear message: this young squad is building something special.

With every match, the Coyotes continue to grow in confidence, chemistry, and toughness. Taking two sets off a state-ranked team is no small achievement—and this group isn't satisfied yet.
